Switching light-section sensor – now with integrated PROFIBUS-DP

Efficient data exchange via PROFIBUS-DP expands the functionality of the LRS switching light-section sensor from Leuze electronic. In up to 16 detection windows with logical linking option, up to 16 inspection tasks can be processed simultaneously in 10 millisecond cycles.

Line range sensors (LRS) from Leuze electronic work as switching light-section sensors. Rather like a laser scanner or light barrier, they detect the presence of objects - even in undefined object positions. Line range sensors do not work with individual light spots; instead they project a divergent light beam using a laser line illumination. The lasers and receivers are contained together in an easy-to-install unit.
