TelMA Torque - the revolutionary torque detection for industry 4.0 and machine monitoring
TelMA Torque offers a revolutionary and cost-effective solution for torque measurement in series transmissions or drive trains in the frame for Industry 4.0.
The proven properties of strain gauge technology and near-field telemetry are combined with a cost-effective application technology to create a torsion sensor in stamp format.
Due to the stamp format, the solution is suitable both for new designs and for integration into existing systems (retro-fit).
The basic requirement for Industry 4.0 is the acquisition of physical quantities at the machines. This is the only way to achieve concepts such as predictive maintenance with lower maintenance costs, shorter downtimes and improved energy efficiency. The determination of load collectives can also be used to improve the design of gearboxes.
The most important variable is the torque. Previous solutions for torque measurement in series transmissions and Industry 4.0 are considered to be economically not feasible and not robust enough. On the one hand, this was due to excessively high acquisition costs and, on the other hand, to the required know-how in the application and use of measurement technology.
The new miniaturized telemetric sensor TelMA Torque, for which a patent has already been applied for, is intended to eliminate precisely these disadvantages.
It is not an OEM product, but a universal solution that will provide the German mechanical engineering industry with the tool for industry 4.0 and new competitive advantages.
The proven properties of strain gauge technology and near-field telemetry based on MANNER sensor telemetry are combined with a cost-effective and industrially feasible application technology, resulting in a micro-weldable torsion sensor in stamp format. The advantage of microwelding technology is that there are no structural changes and the strength of the drive train does not suffer. The system works in an advantageous contactless way and is completely maintenance-free. No soldering iron or failure-prone bonding process is required for assembly. The TelMA Torque Sensor can be used immediately after installation with long-term stability.
With a cost effective, dynamic torque acquisition/monitoring on aggregates (gears, motors, pumps, generators etc.) new possibilities are created to further develop your product for the industry 4.0.
Exemplary application cases:
- Machine monitoring / early diagnosis / predictive maintenance
- Process optimization with control loop integration
- Detection of dynamics and torsional vibrations to identify the cause of violent / vibrational fractures
- Performance and efficiency analyses
- Safe" and reliable machine operation
The TelMA system offers the user 3 measurement quantities torque, speed and temperature and thus provides the possibility to record the complete spectrum for load collectives.
The system is particularly easy to use and no previous electronic knowledge is required.
The TelMA sensor is welded on - the application is completed in 2.5 minutes! Convince yourself and watch this video!
For drive shafts loaded by bending moments, possible bending moment influences in the signal can be compensated by mounting two elements.
The signals are acquired via a standing induction loop. The induction loop is available as an insulated endless cable material or in the form of an enameled copper wire which is embedded in a carrier. The carrier can be produced by 3D printing or conventionally.
An industrially manufactured circuit board can also be used to advantage. Finally, the enamelled copper wire is mounted in the evaluation unit at the designated terminals. Optionally, a speed sensor can be connected. Supply
The system is now ready for use. The data output is carried out via CAN; voltage or current output. Finally, the measuring range is adjusted by means of the remote Control Software. The remote control software also offers test functions (calibration shunt; supply voltage) and helpful memory functions for storing relevant background information.
