Texense® IB6-CAN, new 6 axes IMU with CAN output data

Texys International, French leader in high performance embedded testing sensors, is proud to announce the release of new texense® IB6-CAN: the CAN bus version of its successful IB-6 analog Inertial Movement Unit.

Texense® IB6-CAN is the result of the ongoing development process on IB-6 previous release and a close cooperation effort with the highest level automotive testing centers and motor racing professional organizations.

Keeping the same features, new texense® IB6-CAN integrates in the same compact housing (36x26.5x25.5mm) a 2 axes accelerometer (X-Y), a single axis accelerometer (for Z) and a 3 axes gyroscope, proving once again our expertise in miniaturized sensors dedicated to embedded testing in harsh environment and when space is limited.

It is possible to choose between gas and capacitive technologies on X-Y and Z accelerometers (full gas, full capacitive or gas/capacitive combination). Acceleration range can be either +/-3G, +/- 5G or +/- 10G for Gas type and can go up to +/- 20G for capacitive type. The range shall be identical for X-Y axes. Angular speed for 3 axes gyroscope has to be chosen between +/- 50°/sec; +/- 100°/sec and +/- 150°/sec.

Texense® IB6-CAN main advantage is to deliver CAN format output data which considerably simplifies the wires connection to the data logger.

Texense® IB6-CAN gives 3 acceleration and 3 angular speed data on CAN bus (16 bits per channel). As for all our CAN based sensors, several parameters are user configurable: Baud-rate, emission frequency, IDs.

If needed the emission frequency can be set up to 500 Hz (only with Baud rate @ 1 Mbps).
