The separable universal shaft transmitter - The professional tool for optimizing the power train in cars
Manner Sensortelemetrie GmbH: For measuring the torques on lateral driven shafts, the separable universal shaft transmitter, based on sensor telemetry integrated by Manner, has meanwhile passed its "baptism of fire". A series of development steps, derived from the findings from the initial trials, led to an ideal tool for power train optimization which is very easy to use. Well-known automobile manufacturers are successfully using the separable universal shaft transmitter, even under the harshest of conditions (winter testing in Scandinavia and summer testing in the desert). The system corresponds to the idea of "plug & play". Typical crosstalk problems when using telemetry or the necessity for using different frequencies are not issues here. The two half-shells of the universal shaft transmitter are simply clamped to the shaft. This way, measurements on the lateral drives are possible within a short period of time without having to remove the shafts. This is not only a decisive advantage for comparing with foreign vehicles. In addition to the torque measurement, the universal shaft transmitter also allows the speed to be directly measured. The universal shaft transmitter consists of a bearing-supported, dirt-proof transmission unit with a built-in remotely programmable amplifier (measuring range, auto-zeroing), which transmits the measuring signal and power without physical contact. It is extremely robust against stone chips and is still compact. Thanks to the little-added thickness of 12 mm to the shaft, the necessary mounting space is non-critical, even in very compactly built vehicles. Since there is no compensation work, the system is immediately ready for operation after mounting.
