The Series III-L Valve

Barksdale, a leading manufacturer of industrial controls, is pleased to announce a new line of directional control selector/diverter actuated valve-the Series III-L valve.

Designed with the same Shear-Seal® technology as our traditional valves, the Series III-L provides years of trouble-free operation and virtually zero leakage*. The Shear-Seal® design uses fluid pressure to maintain a leak-free metal-to-metal seal that improves with use. The shearing action between the rotor & pressure seal continually laps the mating surfaces and prevents contaminates from lodging between the sealing surfaces. The result is a valve that doesn’t wear out – but wears in over time, providing superior control consistently through the entire life of the product.

The Series III-L integrates the same rack and pinion actuator assembly as our Series II valve, providing reliable shifting performance and eliminating problems associated with remote clevis pivot cylinder configurations. It is constructed using a corrosion resistant rotor and pressure seals with a stainless steel shaft. The carbon steel body offers a rugged exterior while maintaining a competitive cost. Series III-L is designed for harsh industrial environments and tough operating conditions for hydraulic media applications.

The Series III-L valve operates at working pressures up to 5000 psi hydraulic with the ability to handle high velocity flows (75 GPM @ 60 ft/sec) with minimal pressure drop. It also works well with a wide variety of common hydraulic oils with contaminants that would damage conventional valves.

The Series III-L valve is available in 2-position 4-way selector or a 2 position diverter/bypass function with 1” NPT or 1” SAE porting.  As with all Barksdale valve products, the Series III-L valve can be configured to meet your specific application requirements.
