Thermography: a compact standalone solution for process monitoring
A miniature PC simplifies the integration of the thermoIMAGER series of thermal imaging cameras into industrial production environments. Built-in features ensure seamless operation.
Micro-Epsilon has introduced a compact industrial PC for infrared cameras of the thermoIMAGER TIM series. The TIM NetBox replaces a standard PC/laptop in industrial thermography applications. This means that thermal imaging cameras can be used as standalone solutions for measuring and monitoring tasks. The TIM NetBox can also act as a translator between the camera and an Ethernet network. In addition, users can integrate their own software to customise process monitoring. The built-in watchdog feature uses intelligent self-monitoring to protect the measurement process from interference. The TIM NetBox can be supplied with an optional IP65 protective housing, which makes it ideal for the process monitoring of automation and OEM applications.
The system is based on a COM-Express mini embedded board with an Intel ® Atom™ Z530 processor, 2GB SSD and 512 MB RAM. A variety of connections are available: 3 x USB 2.0, 1 x mini USB, VGA/Video, Gigabit Ethernet, one micro SD card slot (up to 32 GB). The system boasts an extensive supply voltage range of 8 - 48 VDC and comes with Windows XP Professional. The mini PC supports a frame rate of up to 120 Hz.
