UPT-2x process transmitter receives the iF design award
The UPT-2x process transmitter from WIKA has won the iF design award 2017. With this, the jury for the internationally renowned design prize paid tribute to both the functional and visual design of the measuring instrument as innovative.
The concept of the universal transmitter combines high-precision, multi-functional measurement technology with user-friendly operation and the flexible positioning of the instrument in the process. The ergonomically shaped display head with its 60 mm display can be turned and set to any corresponding readable position. The electronics of the UPT-2x are protected by a case with a smooth contour. The body is made from either conductive plastic or robust stainless steel, and on request can also be in hygienic design with electropolished finish and surfaces sealed to the outside.
The UPT-2x is the second WIKA product, following the PSD-30, to receive the iF award from iF International Forum Design GmbH. The concept of the process transmitter has also recently attracted attention in the USA: As part of their annual design competition, the Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design recognised the UPT-2x with a Good Design Award in the “Industrial” category.
