Wireless Temperature Sensor for Rough Environment
Manner Sensortelemetrie developed a new 'Plug and Play' wireless temperature sensor for rough test stand operation especially for supervision of critical temperatures of devices. The temperature sensor is extremely robust, simple to handle and needs no change of the batteries within a ½ year of operational time.
Typical applications are:
- Monitoring of the damper temperature while shaking test of the complete vehicle
- Supervision of the bearing temperatures on the drive shafts
- Supervision of the bearing temperature on the gear
- Supervision of the oil temperature
- Supervision of the cooling water
- General supervision of test stands, etc.
The wireless temperature sensor is mounted at the measuring point via a clamp. The integrated temperature sensor measures the temperature of the device's surface and transmits the data to the receiving unit via radio transmission. The measuring range for this method is -40 to +120° Celsius. For very hot temperature measurements a standard thermocouple can be attached to the wireless temperature sensor that is located at a cooler location.
The sampling rate of the wireless temperature sensors is programmable and 1 second at default. The measured data are transmitted real-time to the receiving unit. A remarkable point of the wireless temperature sensor is the power-saving operation mode and the transmitting range of about 30m. The digitizing of the data with 16 Bits and the coded transmission guarantees high preciseness and reliability.
It is possible to operate several wireless temperature sensors (up to 128) with one receiving unit at the same time. Every wireless temperature sensor has its own address that enables the user a correct assignment of the data. Interfaces like CAN bus or USB are supported.
