WV36M/CAN Magnetic Absolute Multi Turn Rotary Encoder - battery-free with CANopen interface
With the WV36M/CAN, SIKO GmbH has expanded their product range with a further magnetic absolute multi turn rotary encoder with CANopen interface.
The cost-effective rotary encoder is designed for high loads thanks to its double ball bearings. The non-wearing magnetic measurement principle and battery-free multi turn technology make it perfectly suited to positioning work in mechanically challenging environments.
The WV36M/CAN offers three modes (cyclic, polled and sync mode) with adjustable data transfer rates (20 kBaud to 1 MBaud). In addition, parameterisation and configuration takes place completely via the CAN bus. Not only can the parameters for direction of rotation, preset values and resolution per revolution be freely adjusted, but two end switch positions are also available. All parameters can be saved in the rotary encoder's non-volatile memory.
The integrated absolute measurement technology allows revolutions to be recorded reliably and precisely even without power. The values will be available immediately and without any loss after a power failure. The integrated technology allows a resolution of 8192 revolutions (13 bit) and single turns with a 12 bit resolution (4096 steps per revolution). The compact design (just 36.5 mm in diameter) allows the WV36M/CAN to be used easily even in applications with limited space.
