Xsens has released MTi and MTx versions with a unique acceleration range of +/- 5g
5g version MTi and MTx. Xsens has released MTi and MTx versions with a unique acceleration range of +/- 5g. Both the MTi (miniature Attitude and Heading Reference System) and the MTx (3DOF Orientation Tracker) are now available with this new measurement range, which provides excellent performance to many new applications.
The addition of a 5g version is a very useful extension of our product offering because there are many applications in which accelerations above 1.7g occur (our current standard). Especially this can be important in situations where vibrations also play a role. Furthermore, the performance of the 5g accelerometer is superior to our current 10g offering. Its noise levels, bias stability and linearity are on par with the 1.7g version. The reason for this is that the 5g version is based on the same next-generation MEMS core as the 1.7g and thus it delivers almost the same high performance. The 5g acceleration sensor is a unique 'factory special', and the MTi and MTx with this range are offered for the same price as the 1.7g version.
The 5g version is available as of April 1st, 2006
