ZMDI announces a record second quarter of product releases in the Power Management and Motor Control product lines

Intelligent Actuator and Motor Controller IC

The ZAMC4100 addresses the growing demand for intelligent actuator/motor control in industrial, medical and automotive applications, and it is ideal for use where a small form factor is required or external components must be minimized. In a single, compact 9x9mm QFN package, the ZAMC4100 integrates an ARM® Cortex™-M0 microcontroller (trademark of ARM, Ltd.); eight power stages with integrated MOSFETs; SPI, UART and LIN2.1 communication interfaces; eight general-purpose digital input/output (I/O) pins; and four general-purpose analog inputs. The intelligent ZAMC4100 Actuator and Motor Controller IC with integrated motor drivers provides cost-effective solutions in a wide range of applications, such as industrial automation, building control, medical equipment, white goods, security systems and automotive applications.

Pre-Configured Digital Power Controllers

The new products for digital power control expand ZMDI’s ZSPM15xx family, which provides power solutions for bus voltages from 0.85V to 5.0V and maximum load currents up to 40A. The ZSPM15xx is a single–phase, true–digital pulse-width modulator (PWM) power controller optimized for non-isolated point-of-load (POL) applications. Many high performance field programmable gate array (FPGA), digital signal processor (DSP) and system-on-chip (SoC) applications require multiple high-precision supply voltages for proper operations, which can be provided by the different products in the ZSPM15xx family.

ZSPM15XX family ICs are pre-configured to provide customers with a fast time-to-market and easy-to-design solution for high-performance, digitally controlled power supplies with one of ZMDI’s integrated MOSFET power stage DrMOS products: the ZSPM9000, ZSPM9010, ZSPM9015 or ZSPM9060. ZSPM15xx controllers feature a flexible design that allows users to easily select the over-current protection limit, output voltage rise time and control-loop compensation via two external resistors to achieve the highest performance. This family was designed to reduce customer costs, design time and minimize the application footprint.

With the introduction of the ZSPM1511, ZSPM1512 and ZSPM1513, ZMDI offers an easy-to-use turnkey power solution for power stage outputs of 0.85V, 1.00V or 1.20V (maximum load current: 15A) with ultra-fast transient response and very low jitter and ripple. These are critical to ensure an FPGA, SoC or DSP functions at its optimum performance in networking and telecommunication equipment.
