PT Ltd: The PT9011OVL is a tool steel beam sealed to IP67, electroless nickel plated and ideally suited to onboard vehicle weighing. The PT9011OVL can also be used in standard weighing installations where a rigid connection is required to keep the load in place and can support various axels or bearings in industrial weighing. Each load cell comes with the standard PT Ltd serial numbered accuracy certificate and our famous 3 year warranty.

The PT9011OVL is easily adapted to a range of installations, some are illustrated below. These illustrations are only a few of the possible applications. The PT9011OVL can equally be used in industrial applications and is well suited for monitoring shaft loads where the bearing housing bolts to the load cell.

The diagram to the left shows the PT9011OVL supporting the hydraulic lifting ram on a tipping truck. The load cell mounts to a bracket on the chassis of the vehicle and carries the ram support bearing. Depending upon the situation the bracket may be welded or bolted to the chassis.

The diagram to the left shows the PT9011OVL carrying a bolster frame typical of those on logging trucks. Notice how the load cell is installed upside down. This provides a wider area for bolting the bolster to the load cell. Also shown here is a floating arrangement utilising springs to keep pressure between the load cell and support. In situations where the chassis may twist unduly, for instance off the highway, and the truck has a rigid load carrying frame or tank and wracking stresses are to be avoided the springs allow the load cell to lift.

The diagram to the left shows the PT9011OVL in a typical axle weighing situation as seen in many agricultural applications. As above, the load cell can be mounted in an inverted position to provide more room to accommodate the axle.
