New, simplified DAkkS calibration for force transducers

09 October 2013

HBM is offering a new service for force calibration as part of DAkkS accreditation. The calibration certificate provides proof of traceability and includes a statement of measurement uncertainty and conformity.

Quality processes increasingly include requirements for calibration certificates verifying accredited calibration processes. Until now, the only way to meet these demands for force transducers was through extensive and expensive calibration processes. Now the new and simplified DAkkS calibration certificate service from HBM Test & Measurement ensures that audits can be reliably passed.

Force transducers used for industrial measurement technology to monitor production and in test benches for research and development can both be calibrated with no problems. The process is based on the experience and competence of HBM's DAkkS calibration laboratory, the first to be accredited in Germany in accordance with DIN EN ISO/IEC 17025 (at the time part of the DKD, the German Calibration Service). HBM has stood for safety and precision for many years. The calibration systems with the best measurement technology have certified measurement uncertainty ranging from 0.005% to 0.02% of the actual value.

The reference standards used are regularly verified by comparison measurements with the PTB (Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt, the German Metrology Institute). The calibration certificate thus automatically provides proof of traceability. The certificate also includes a statement of measurement uncertainty and conformity, which ensures that audits will be reliably passed. In addition to the high accuracy of the calibration systems, the calibration process also includes the largest range of calibration stages in DAkkS, from 2.5 N to 5 MN for tensile and compressive force. The new DAkkS calibration for force transducers is available at the attractive price of a working standard calibration.
