Checking LED illumination individually
With the colorCONTROL MFA 1 series, Micro-Epsilon Eltrotec has launched a cost effective sensor for inspecting the operation and intensity of single LEDs.
Traditional displays such as bulbs, monitors and display elements with filaments are being increasingly replaced by LEDs. Due to their high luminous efficiency, large colour spectrum and the different types of light – such as visible light, infrared and ultraviolet – the sensors can be applied in many different ways. Due to this new technology, inspection systems for these self-luminous objects have become more demanding. MICRO-EPSILON Eltrotec has seen this development and used its experience in fibre optics and image processing to develop a product family for LED inspection. As well as LED analysers, colorCONTROL MFA 55/100 for the inspection of up to 100 fibre optics and colorCONTROL MFA 5 for up to 20 measurement points, and the new colorCONTROL MFA 1 series are now available. According to Joachim Hueber, product manager colour sensors: “colorCONTROL MFA 1 offers an easy-to-use Teach In function, 5Hz switching frequency and a switchable NPN/PNP output. Therefore, the system is ideal for applications in testing units for quality inspection.”
