SmartReflect in the new enclosure: more added value for the beverage industry

Baumer also implemented the successful SmartReflect technology in their next-generation sensors 0300 and 0500 to detect all types of beverage packaging. This combination ensures measurable added value by reduced operating costs and maximum process reliability.
Baumer's SmartReflect is the first light barrier that works without a reflector. The light beam is closed via a random part of the machine. The sensor switches when an object is physically interrupting the light beam. Forgoing a reflector eliminates effort and costs entailed by reflector installation, commissioning, adjustment and cleaning which would otherwise be necessary. The sensor therefore is perfectly suited for applications in the filling and packaging process.

Practice-driven and cost-efficient, the SmartReflect light barriers present themselves in the design of the new 0300 and 0500 sensors. qTarget is another key feature. By design, light beam alignment is always the same within the series which will ease and speed up installation. Simplified handling, by teach-in: While a conventional mechanical pressure switch has moving parts which are prone to wear and impermeability problems over the time, this is eliminated in the new Baumer series by qTeach. A touch with any ferromagnetic tool such as a screwdriver on the teaching surface is sufficient to prepare the sensor for programming.

Furthermore, a particularly sensitive SmartReflect version is available for special applications in the food and beverage industry. It will capture even the slightest change in intensity to reliably detect extremely transparent films, trays and bottles.
