Guarding with Stainless Steel

Leuze electronic: S420 is the name of the new stainless-steel safety hinge switch with which Leuze electronic optimally solves mechanically and hygienically challenging problems.

When a high safety level (SIL 3, PL e) is required and cleanliness and hygiene play an important role, for example, in the food industry, pharmaceuticals or cosmetics, the S420 stainless steel switches show their full strengths. They offer optimum cleaning options – even with high-pressure cleaning – thanks to a wall-side cable outlet, a high-grade surface with a roughness of less than 0.8 micrometers and degree of protection of IP 67, IP 69K. Covered, tamper-proof screws considerably reduce the risk of manipulation. This safety hinge switch is also recommended in the wood products industry in situations where high availability is important under dust and particle loads. Through the six-point bolting of the joint, even heavy doors can be reliably guarded with opening angles of up to 180 degrees and long service life. Four multi-color LEDs facilitate precise, on-site diagnosis; an additional signal output is used to transfer the signal of the door status to indicators or controls. The user can select from device versions with contact blocks or safety-related switching outputs (OSSDs). The latter allow a series connection of 32 devices without reducing the safety level.
