Safety at the touch of a button – Innovations in the range of E-STOP pushbuttons PITestop from Pilz
Pilz is expanding its range of E-STOP pushbuttons PITestop: New Sets including pushbutton, contact block with bracket and surface mount housing make it easier to select the right E-STOP solution. All Pilz pushbuttons are now also available in a new design and with quick-connect technology plus an integrated monitoring function.
With complete PITestop Sets, containing pushbutton, contact block with bracket and surface mount housing, Pilz makes it easier to select the right components for the various application areas: illuminated mushroom-type pushbuttons are suitable in difficult light conditions or for visual indication of activation, pushbuttons with keys allow resets to be performed by one person only and devices with protective collar prevent unintended activation.
Pilz has reworked the design of the PITestop range: on the new E-STOP pushbuttons, the E-STOP symbol is on the pushbutton itself – thanks to the clear design, it can even be applied in three places. As a result, there is no need for additional labelling in the operating language. Thanks to the push-in technology used on the PITestop for rapid assembly, installation work is reduced considerably.
All PIT E-STOP pushbuttons now have a monitored contact block. The monitoring function – a N/O contact connected in series – ensures that the pushbutton is not rendered inoperable due to external conditions in the machine environment, such as vibration for example, without this being indicated. In the event of an error, the N/O contact breaks the circuit and the malfunction is indicated.
In accordance with the Machinery Directive, plant and machinery must be fitted with emergency stop equipment so that a hazard can be averted or reduced in the case of an emergency. Suitable for worldwide use, PITestop meet all the relevant international standards and regulations such as EN/IEC 60947-5-1, EN/IEC 60947-5-5 and EN ISO 13850. Pilz E-STOP pushbuttons are designed to satisfy even specific light or hygiene conditions (up to protection type IP69k) and authorisations.
