Switch distance easily
The new inductive Leuze IS 200 series sensors offer up to three times the operating range of standard inductive sensors.
When it comes to detecting metal objects, inductive sensors come into their own. These proximity sensors offer contactless detection at short range. However, inductive sensors reach their limits if the object to be detected is too far away. The Sensor People from Leuze have come up with a new, more cost-effective solution than ever before: the inductive sensors with designation IS 200MM.2 enable switching distances of up to 40 millimeters in compact, cylindrical housings. This also makes them suitable for applications with small installation spaces, larger distances, or for machine concepts with larger tolerances. They also detect imprecisely placed metallic objects and minimize collision risks during operation.
Flexible implementation
The IS 200 series sensors are available in cylindrical M12, M18 and M30 housings made of nickel-plated brass. Leuze offers each sensor type in two mounting variants, for quasi-embedded and non-embedded installation. The sensors offer users the advantage of reliable detection for moving machine components, as well as tools, input materials or end products made of steel, aluminum, copper alloy or stainless steel. The large switching distance means just one compact sensor model can be used for several operating ranges. This standardization therefore also reduces storage costs. It also helps maintain a cost-efficient system design.
Robust construction
The devices in the IS 200 series fulfil the requirements of protection class IP 67. Their impressively high durability and robust design make them well-suited for installation in harsh environments with dirt or vibrations. The devices also operate in a wide temperature range from -25 to +70°C. This adds to their versatility.
