Analog interface for high performance laser triangulation
Micro-Epsilon: In order to use the highly dynamic optoNCDT 2300 laser triangulation sensor with an analog output, Micro-Epsilon has launched C-Box, a compact, external controller that is used for fast d/a conversion or for synchronous evaluation of two sensor signals.
The optoNCDT 2300 high performance triangulation displacement sensor is intended for precision detection of fast moving objects. The sensor is used for displacement measurements on diffuse reflecting materials and on lustrous, porous or rough surfaces. In addition, the optoNCDT 2300 can be used for one-sided thickness measurement of transparent materials.
The currently available digital interfaces - Ethernet, RS422 and EtherCAT - are now extended by a new analog output of the new controller. The C-Box is a compact electronics unit that is used for fast d/a conversion of a digital input signal or for evaluating two digital sensor signals. The d/a conversion is executed with 16-Bit and max. 70 kHz. The C-Box is supplied with four outputs: a configurable analog output, Ethernet, RS422 or USB. Parameter set up and handling of the C-Box as well as of the connected sensors are performed via a web interface. As well as averaging and statistical functions, thickness, diameter, step and inclinations can also be calculated.
