Robust Angle Sensors for Mobile Equipment

Robust Angle Sensors for Mobile Equipment

03 July 2025
Turck's robust QR20 sensors with SAE J1939 and Deutsch connectors guarantee reliable angle measurement on mobile machinery

Mülheim, July 3, 2025 – Turck is expanding its QR20 encoder portfolio to include variants with Deutsch connectors overmolded at the factory. This connection and the contactless design principle ensure continuous IP68/IP69K protection – from the sensor to the interface. In combination with the extreme mechanical resistance against shocks, vibrations and tensile loads on the cables, the inductive angle sensors are ideal for use in mobile machinery. Users save time during installation as the devices can be installed without a protective housing or strain relief in the cable management system.

The variant with an SAE J1939 output can be easily integrated into compatible networks. Alternatively, Turck offers a version with an analog voltage output. Besides the 360° full range, seven defined angle ranges between ±10° and ±120° are available to users for rapid commissioning of the analog sensors. If only one section of the angle range needs to be captured, the resolution of the sensor can be maximized accordingly.

Typical applications for the QR20 sensors include angle measurement on lifting arms, pantographs, snow clearing vehicles, combine harvesters or lifting devices in commercial vehicles as well as in agricultural and construction machinery.
