Non-contact door opener

SNT Sensortechnik AG: In meat processing plants stringent requirements prevail regarding hygiene. Doors should therefore only be operated by non-contact switches. The ultrasonic sensor with relay output type UPY is ideally suited for that. It is available for wall mounting with an operating distance of 30cm. Unlike optical systems, the switching distance is independent of color or characteristics of the actuating object. Persons or vehicles passing by at greater distances are not detected. Furthermore, it responds only to presence and not to the motion of distant movements as often movement detectors do.

Identification of hanging containers on monorails

Whole animals or meat containers are conveyed by means of monorails for final processing. Here as well ultrasonic sensors (type UPK) provide that the gates will open on time. Ultrasonic sensors react to various types of surfaces. They are therefore ideal for this application. The environment is harsh, wet and cold.
