DIS Sensors introduces a rotary encoder for safety applications

DIS Sensors has expanded her successful family of rotary encoders with a fully redundant version, suitable for safety applications. The contactless encoder is based on Hall effect sensors and works with an external magnet (magnet distance 0-5 mm) for maximum mounting flexibility.

We developed a new housing for this sensor of 40 x 40 mm, with a height of only 17 mm. Redundancy has been applied up to and including the cable/ connector by using a 6 core cable. We have chosen for a robust 4-20 mA interface so cable breakage can be detected. The sensor has a resolution of 11bit and a high protection level (IP67).

This sensor is available with a measuring range of 360° and any sub ranges are available on request. More information can be found on the data sheet.
