Balluff Configuration Tool for magnetically coded linear and angle measuring systems
Ideal for installation, maintenance and condition monitoring
The BML series from Balluff offers rugged, precise and quick absolute position and angle measurement systems, which are ideal for installation or direct integration into drive and positioning systems. A new, optional Configuration Tool with programming adapter now offers comprehensive support for installation, setting and maintenance of these magnetically coded systems. Expanded diagnostics functions effectively protect against error in installation.
Ideal applications include linear axes in automation and handling, long shafts in drive technology and/or areas where high accuracy and generous installation tolerances need to be balanced.
This tool not only allows BML system parameters to be simply visualized and modified, but also enables you to read operating conditions and display the BEF* (Balluff Exactness Factor) graphically in real time. This makes condition monitoring of the measuring system possible, for example to draw conclusions about the assembly quality and/or condition of the measuring track.
If multiple measuring systems having the same parameter set are installed in a system, they can be configured especially efficiently and quickly using functions for saving and loading. Automatic optimizing of the system parameters for rotary applications rounds out the range of functions.
*BEF (Balluff Exactness Factor)
The BEF is also used for system diagnostics and predictive maintenance. To determine the BEF the measured sensor signals are continuously monitored, so that conclusions can be drawn about the quality of the measuring element can be drawn even in-process. This makes it easy to uncover errors in installation or changes to the tape.
