Photoelectric Distance Sensor BOD 23 K
Fast, reliable and for long distances
Balluff: Laser distance sensors are a great thing. They operate on the principle of light time-of-flight and can perform high-precision measurements with especially great accuracy and resolution over long distances without a reflector. They are also virtually independent of material, color or surface composition of the target. New in the Balluff portfolio is the BOD 23K Laser Distance Sensor.
Integrated in a rugged plastic housing with IP 67 or IP 69K protection and Ecolab approval, it offers a detection range of from 100 to 5000 mm at a resolution of < 5 mm (12 bits). It provides a continuous, proportional voltage and current signal from 0 to 10 V and 4 to 20 mA which can be set within the maximum working range to the actually required range. An additional digital output with selectable PNP or NPN switching function is also provided.
Rapid startup and intuitive operation with high functionality ensure great efficiency. The user can teach measuring ranges and switching points simply using a menu-driven procedure and two keys on the top side of the sensor. The highly visible red laser light with a wavelength of 660nm makes adjustment of the sensor easy. Other good news: An IO-Link version with numerous additional functions is in development and will be available by the 4th quarter of 2016. The sensor is rated for Laser Protection Class 1, so that it can be used without any additional protection measures.
