Certified Ethernet-APL Solutions
Now Available
Pepperl+Fuchs is bringing the process industry into the age of digital automation with Ethernet-APL. The Advanced Physical Layer is based on proven fieldbus cabling and therefore makes use of the widely available infrastructure. The result is unprecedented transparency of the entire plant and unhindered data flow from the field device to the cloud.
The internationally certified technology was adapted in summer 2022 and is based on recognized open industry standards, protocols, and data models. Proven IT technologies ensure authorization, authentication, and device identification. Devices log in automatically and make their device descriptions available. Devices are replaced via plug and play. These open standards prevent dependence on individual suppliers.
As one of the driving forces behind the new industry standard, Pepperl+Fuchs is offering the infrastructure for digital communication for the SPS 2022. From Ethernet-APL-capable instrumentation to the PROFIBUS PA fieldbus up to conventional analog signals, field devices can be integrated in any hazardous area via remote I/O and switches.
