Safety shows its playful side!

Leuze electronic provides a safety know-how portal for visitors to its homepage: www.safety-at-work.leuze.de. The portal includes useful information on safety-related topics, including new standards, for both experts and everyday ordinary people. The offering in this portal has now been extended with the interactive game, “Safety Larry”.

After downloading and starting, school-goers, students and young engineers in particular can have fun becoming familiar with the application and functionality of safety sensors in industrial practice, while also enriching their knowledge in an entertaining way.

Players move “Safety Larry”, a machine operator in his boiler suit, with the mouse through an animated factory hall, which is realistically equipped with AS-i and PROFIsafe production cells, Muting solutions conveyor lines and a transfer trolley system. Info areas can be clicked on to describe the type and application of the available safety equipment, ranging from Safety Switches to Light Curtains, right through to Safety Laser Scanners.

Safety Larry entertainingly illustrates the E-STOP, Muting override mode and start/restart interlock unlocking functionalities. Permission is granted to download and distribute this fun educational aid.
