Mobile combi-device for greater flexibility
Leuze electronic: In the logistics chain, there are an increasing number of interfaces and transitions between various identification technologies. Practicable solutions that link these technologies to one another and meet the requirements of the applications are, thus, all the more important.
With the HFM3500D, Leuze electronic presents a combi-device for barcodes and 13.56 MHz RFID with keyboard and display that takes these requirements into account. Information and parameters are highly legible on the 4-line OLED display, even in unfavorable environments.
Using the keyboard, which is similar to that found on a mobile phone, the user can easily maneuver through and make selections in the menu structure or type in new information. The combi-device can easily be adapted to an application by means of function selection and configuration. The adjustment options cover everything from the selection of interface and code, display mode, and data output to function preselection. The following functions can be selected: barcode reading, transponder reading, transponder writing, universal reading (transponder or barcode) and a special function for technology transitions, e.g. at goods receiving: read the barcode and write to the following transponder.
In addition to function selection and data entry via the keyboard, simple commands can be issued by the PLC to specify data for transponders or to select functions remotely. In order to make handling and the range of applications even more versatile and more convenient, a text message can be output on the display of the device to provide acknowledgment to the worker. No complicated programming or special knowledge is necessary, just a simple command to the device.
Depending on the application, either the wired model, HFM3500D, or the device with Bluetooth transmission, HFM3520D, is the better choice. The technical data are suitable for the intended uses of the device in the goods receiving and shipping areas, in order picking and in all transitions in intralogistics.
