Factor 1 Sensor for the Food and Beverage Industry
The wash-down version of the Q130WD uprox sensor offers a wide range of uses for can filling applications
Mülheim, March 11, 2019 – Turck is presenting a new Q130WD uprox sensor with wash-down features. Compliant with the requirements of the food and beverage industry, the rectangular proximity switch offers the highest degrees of protection (IP68/IP69K) and can be used at many locations for monitoring the production flow of beverage and food cans.
The Q130WD is based on Turck's patented uprox technology, which has the same high switching distance for all metals. This technology is therefore ideal for detecting aluminium and tin cans. The long travel path makes the new product suitable for the gap-free detection of all standard beverage and food cans. With a switching frequency of 250 Hz, the sensor can detect up to 900,000 cans per hour.
The housing of the Q130WD is made from FDA approved plastics and is resistant to all commonly available alkaline and acidic cleaning agents. The inductive sensor also operates reliably at ambient temperatures between -30 and 85 °C. The switching signal and operating voltage monitoring are designed as corner LEDs making them visible from any viewing angle. The factor 1 sensor with its rectangular design is suitable for partially flush mounting and, with a height of 40 mm, fits perfectly between typical aluminum rail applications.
