IO-Link converters for analog signals
For analog in- and output signals
Balluff: In most equipment and machines analog signals make up only around ten percent of the total data volume. But connecting and incorporating them involves great expense. Not so with the new IO-Link converters for analog in- and output signals. They provide considerable cost reduction potential for systems with limited analog value occurrence. Instead of expensive shielded cable, you can simply use unshielded 3-conductor cables. There is no need for marshalling panels or expensive analog interfaces or additional interface boxes. Another advantage: by switching from analog to digital data transmission the process quality is significantly improved.
The new IO-Link converters allow you to use different input, output, current and voltage signals on one module with maximum signal variance. Depending on the version the analog port can be configured for a voltage signal, current signal, a Pt sensor or a thermocouple. Various current/voltage interfaces are available: 0...10 V, 5...10 V, –10...+10 V, 0...5 V, –5...+5 V, 0...20 mA and 4...20 mA. A resolution of 10 or 16 bits is freely selectable.
The converters are designed for harsh environments and feature a rugged stainless steel housing with IP 67 protection (when threaded together). The connections to IO-Link and to the analog port are made conveniently via plug-and-play with M12 connectors. The converters require no separate supply voltage connection, since the power is provided by the higher level IO-Link master via the IO-Link interface.
