Laser profile scanner with small, blue laser line
The scanCONTROL 29xx-10/BL is a new product from sensor technology specialist Micro-Epsilon. Equipped with Micro-Epsilon’s Blue Laser technology, this model provides an effective measuring range of just 10mm with a profile resolution of 1280 points which is why this sensor measures even smallest components with high precision.
In terms of their size, accuracy and measuring rate, the scanCONTROL series of laser scanners are among the highest performing laser profile sensors in the world. Their operating principle is based on the laser triangulation technique for two-dimensional profile detection on different target surfaces. The sensors detect, measure and evaluate profiles on different object surfaces.
The new scanCONTROL 29xx-10/BL, part of the laser profile scanner product family, enables high resolution measurements of extremely small objects. The scanner is equipped with a blue laser diode and projects a 10mm wide laser line at a profile resolution of 1280 measuring points. This results in a point distance of just 7.8µm, which enables the laser profile scanner to provide twice the resolution of previous laser scanners with a 25mm measuring range.
As with existing laser profile scanners from Micro-Epsilon, the entire electronics is housed in a compact sensor body, where all the signal processing takes place, which eliminates the need for an external controller.
The scanCONTROL 29xx-10/BL is used in applications where the highest precision and resolution are required, such as precision mechanics, electronics, medicine and in the production of precision parts. For example, when checking electronic components for positional tolerances, checking the position of razor blades relative to each other, or verifying laser-welded seams for completeness, the new scanCONTROL model demonstrates its technical strengths.
