Redundant inclination measurement up to PLd for mobile machines
Redundant inclination measurement up to PLd for mobile machines
When heavy loads are moved from A to B using crane and lifting technology or in industrial trucks, safe positioning of the machine is crucial. In order to prevent tipping, the inclination of mobile machines must always be detected even in rough terrain, on construction sites or in factory traffic. The inclination is an important key parameter for the calculations of the load moment indication system. Sensor and measurement specialist SIKO presents the redundant IKM360R inclination sensor for the safe inclination measurement up to a performance level of PLd.
The IKM360R is a redundant inclination sensor according to CAT3, which was specially developed for use in mobile machines and is based on the PURE.MOBILE sensor platform from SIKO. It meets the applicable requirements of EN ISO 13849 and can therefore be used in safety-critical applications up to performance level PLd. In addition, the sensor was specially designed according to the applicable regulations for crane and lifting technology as well as for industrial trucks. For example, it is temperature-compensated over the entire measuring range. In addition to an accuracy of ±0.2° and a resolution of 0.001°, the sensor offers excellent temperature stability in the range between -40 …+85 °C. Optionally, the IKM360R is available as a 1-axis variant with a measuring range of 0 … 360° or in a 2-axis variant with a measuring range of -80 … +80°.
Robust and durable
Thanks to its particularly robust design and high resistance, engineers gain new freedom in integrating the sensor. The housing made of reinforced plastic offers an optimal price-performance ratio and protects the sensor from the harsh environmental conditions in mobile machines. Due to the high protection categories of IP67 and IP6K9K, the hermetically sealed sensor electronics (condensation permissible) and the high UV resistance, the sensor can be installed into the vehicle without special protective measures. It also has high EMC compatibility and is compliant with UN ECE R10.
Easy assembly and commissioning
Thanks to the straightforward three-point mounting, the sensor can be safely installed in the vehicle without further mounting tools. The integrated three-color LEDs help the user during service and commissioning. The sensor is optionally equipped with a redundant CANopen or a CANopen Safety interface. In order to be able to best parameterize it for the application, a wide range of filter options can be selected. Special sensor configurations are available from the factory for some applications in crane and lifting technology. The sensor is available with one or two M12 connectors and can optionally be supplied with a cable outlet.
