Remote monitoring with LTE using Expert Logger devices
Delphin Technology AG: As from now, Expert Logger devices can be equipped with an internal LTE/UMTS interface. This makes them ideal for the independent monitoring of machinery, test stands and building structures or the decentralised measurement of environmental variables. Existing storage capacities in the Expert Loggers can independently record up to 400 million measurements with time stamps. Inputs on the Expert devices measure voltages, currents and temperature sensors at high resolution via 24-bit A/D converters.
The remote interfaces on the Expert Logger support not only the LTE/UMTS standard but also EDGE and GPRS. The LTE option can automatically transmit data from the logger's memory to a server, whether on hosted webspace or a self-operated server. Data transmission takes place via a push function where the Expert Logger automatically logs on to a server using a password and user name to transmit the data via (S)FTP.
Data transmission can be event or time-schedule based. Combinations of events, e.g. limit violations, and time schedules are also possible. In the event of an alert, text messages or emails can be sent. Defining alerts is highly flexible with alert conditions being simple to configure by users.
When an Expert Logger is connected to the internet via the LTE option, current measurement data can be transmitted online and viewed and analysed on a PC using the ProfiSignal software. Transmission via VPN provides the necessary security.
The LTE option is also available for the Expert Transient and Expert Vibro as well as for the Expert Logger. As an alternative to LTE, the devices can also be equipped with a WLAN interface. A WLAN interface enables wireless transmission of high-speed signals of up to 50kHz/channel. The WLAN function can be configured as an AccessPoint, ad-hoc network or WLAN client.
