ZSPM1507 True-Digital PWM Controller IC for powering FPGA applications
ZMD AG (ZMDI), an award-winning global semiconductor company headquartered in Dresden, Germany, and specializing in enabling energy-efficient solutions, announces the ZSPM1507 single-phase, true-digital pulse-width modulator (PWM) power controller optimized for powering input/output rails and auxiliary buses for field programmable gate arrays (FPGAs) in networking and telecommunication equipment. It is pre-configured for a power stage output of 2.5V and is capable of supporting loads up to 20A.

Many of the higher performance FPGAs require multiple power supplies. These are often used to power phase-lock loops, internal clocks and peripheral inputs/outputs in FPGA applications. The ZSPM1507 is optimized for ZMDI’s integrated MOSFET power stage DrMOS products to provide customers with high performance power solutions and fast time-to-market. In addition, ZMDI provides recommended bills-of-materials (BOMs) and printed circuit board (PCB) layout files to reduce external component cost and minimize the application footprint.
The ZSPM15xx family of digital controllers features a flexible design that allows users to easily select the over-current protection limit, output voltage rise time and control loop compensation via two external resistors to achieve the highest performance in their application.
