Level measurement in any setting up to 6 meters: LFP Inox and LFP Cubic – compact or with probe

Level measurement in any setting up to 6 meters: LFP Inox and LFP Cubic – compact or with probe

SICK AG: Be it for continuous level measurement, point level measurement, or a combination of the two, SICK has a wide range of solutions for process control, storage, and protection. Whatever the requirements of the installation situation, the nature of the liquids involved, or the prevailing measuring conditions, the aim always remains the same: to enable efficient processes. With its LFP Cubic and LFP Inox level sensors, SICK offers solutions for any application, in any setting.

Reliable and flexible technology

LFP Cubic and LFP Inox are based on time-domain reflectometry (TDR), which enables the sensors to be used universally regardless of installation situation, tote size, or medium to be measured. The process delivers both maximum reliability and the best possible measurement results.

The portfolio: A perfect match for every application

LFP Cubic and the LFP Inox offer a solution for a wide and varied range of applications. The portfolio includes level sensors for use in mechanical engineering as well as in the food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries. Precision level measurement even for applications involving heavily foaming media is no problem for the level sensors. With a variety of probe lengths and types, variant with rod probe, coaxial tube, cable probe, or compact design without probe, SICK can offer the right solution for every application. This saves both time and money. With the variant with separate electronics and up to three meters of cable, SICK has a space-saving solution which requires little installation space and in which the electronics benefit from protection against process heat. This brings with it huge advantages for use in high tanks in particular. Since the electronics can be installed separately from the probe (at eye level, for example), both status and measurement result are easily legible at all times. Changes can also be made to sensor settings and parameters with ease.  In addition, the electronics are better protected against process heat.

Since the electronics are separate, the probe can also easily be sterilized in an autoclave – a typical requirement in the pharmaceuticals industry.

LFP Inox: The clean solution

The use of FDA-compliant materials in an EHEDG-certified design means that the LFP Inox can be relied upon for optimum and unrestricted cleaning, even in applications with the most stringent hygiene requirements. Its modular connection system allows simple and flexible installation in any application. Thanks to high temperature and pressure resistance, unrestricted use is possible under CIP and SIP conditions. This impressive profile is topped off with communication capability via IO-Link to the superordinate control units.

Combining continuous level measurement with the detection of limit values, the LFP Inox offers significant savings when compared with separate systems. Display, switchable analog output 4 – 20 mA or 0 – 10 V, IO-Link for individual configuration, diagnostic, and visualization options, plus two transistor switching outputs are combined in a compact sensor housing which meets requirements for both IP67 and IP69K enclosure ratings. As the probes can be shortened and the process connections can be changed, the LFP Inox is very versatile in practical applications. Easy to commission, maintenance-free, and almost entirely independent of the properties of the medium to be measured (meaning that the sensor does not have to be recalibrated) pave the way for significant savings in terms of both time and money.

LFP Cubic: Flexible up to the probe tip

Like the LFP Inox, the LFP Cubic delivers continuous measurement or point level measurement according to requirements in a single system; this too cuts costs significantly. The LFP Cubic is compatible for use in virtually any liquid. Thanks to its modular probe, the sensor can be integrated quickly into any application. The sensor can even work in deposit-forming and foaming liquids. The sensor’s intuitive setup uses four pushbuttons and a display to ensure quick and easy adaptation to the application. Separate electronics, IO-Link interface, and a design which features a process connection in titanium are additional features for versatile use.

Almost entirely wear-free and maintenance-free, the LFP Cubic enables continuous level measurement and point level measurement to be performed with one and the same device. It is ideal for use in metal containers and tanks within the water industry, in mechanical engineering, in machine tool, in plant construction, and in building technology.
