Balluff Globalprox family – 2-wire range expanded

More than standard

The name Globalprox stands for a complete, globally available product line of rugged inductive sensors in 2- and 3-wire technology from Balluff. The sensor specialist and connectivity provider introduced additions to the line with DC 2-wire, normally closed versions at the 2009 Hanover Exhibition. Balluff now offers all the designs for the Asian market as Globalprox variants, even with the worldwide standard approvals such as CULUS and CE. Also new are weld splatter resistant 2-wire versions.

Balluff Globalprox sensors offer high reliability, increased flexibility and customer benefits as well as an optimal price-performance ration. Typical applications include object detection in handling and assembly as well as the packaging industry for monitoring end positions or workpiece feeding.

These flush-mountable 2-wire inductive sensors are available with extended switching distance from M8 to M30 as normally open or normally closed, polarized or non-polarized and with cable, connector or pigtail connection. Now the user always has the right sensor available for any application. Also available are weld splatter resistant versions with Teflon coated housing. These sensors, which are offered as quick-disconnect and pigtail variants with especially short housings, are optimized for applications in industrial weld environments and resist metal splatter, slag and combustion remnants as found in welding areas. If the host controller provides quiescent current monitoring, cable break detection is also possible.

Homemade mounting solutions are generally not needed for Globalprox sensors, since Balluff already offers a custom tailored, tested range of accessories for quick installation, including clamps with quick-lock, brackets and mounting cuffs. Of course all the required system components for electrical connection from the sensor/actuator to the controller are also available. In addition to connectors and cables, the user will find in the Balluff industrial connectivity line all the needed passive and active distributor boxes. The icing on the cake: Balluff distribution boxes are 2- and 3-wire DC compatible.
